Build Strength With Hill Repeats - If you could use some extra strength and power in your cycling, try hill repeats. Find a hill to climb repeatedly, even if it's just a highway overpass. Be sure to establish a proper base, logging at least a month's worth of easy riding before you start your vertical work. If possible pick a climb with light traffic and a short loop back to the bottom that's free of stop signs and traffic lights so you can keep spinning. Start with two to three sets that last three to four minutes each. If it takes a minute to climb the hill, then do three repeats per set. If it takes three minutes to climb the hill, then each climb is a complete set. Rest three to four minutes between each set. Build up to four sets of five minutes each. At that point, we're nicknaming you Hammer.
